uss shaam bohat udasi thi
jis shaam wo tanha roi thi
ik dukh tha uss kay chehray par
ik dard tha uss ki aankhon main
jab khali bartan khankay thay
jab jata cholha sookha tha

uss raat bohat weerani thi
uss shaam bohat udasi thi

phir khali ghar bhi toot gaya
aur aankh ka ansoo rooth gaya
jo manzil ko jata tha, wo rasta dhundh main doob gaya
har aas umeed bhi tooti thi
sab dunia uss say roothi thi
jis shaam wo tanha roi thi
